More about Antiseptic Effectiveness

Antiseptics are chemicals that can inhibit or slow the growth of germs. Antiseptic products are often used when injuries occur, or before starting certain medical procedures with the aim of preventing infection. Many pharmaceutical companies claim their products contain safe antiseptics. Correct use is indeed safe and effective to reduce the number of bacteria on the skin of someone who will undergo surgery or get an injection. However, note also that the use of antiseptics that have been contaminated with germs can still cause infection.
